Celebrities took to social media to tribute legendary singer, Aretha Franklin, who passed away at 76-years-old on Thursday, but one celebrity was slammed for his tribute.
Actor, Jim Carrey, spends a lot of time drawing political sketches, many that bash President Donald Trump, however this time, he shared a drawing that depicted the late “Respect” singer.
“Look how beautiful a life can be. Thank you, Aretha!” Carrey tweeted along with his portrait of Franklin.

People took to Twitter to express their concern on the skin tone in Carrey’s drawing:
But why is she white?

Trump, former President Barack Obama, singer-songwriter, Paul McCartney, and others praised Franklin’s “gift” and “voice.”
The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, is dead. She was a great woman, with a wonderful gift from God, her voice. She will be missed!

Aretha helped define the American experience. In her voice, we could feel our history, all of it and in every shade—our power and our pain, our darkness and our light, our quest for redemption and our hard-won respect. May the Queen of Soul rest in eternal peace. pic.twitter.com/bfASqKlLc5

Whether it was Gospel, Blues, Jazz, R&B, Pop,or Civil Rights, Aretha Franklin was the greatest gift and the voice of a generation. She could turn any song into a hymn. She will be greatly missed here on earth, but that band in heaven just got our Angel

The comedian will probably continue with his unflattering portraits of the president, the Trump administration, and their supporters.
