The ranking member of the House Oversight Committee Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) told Fox News on Tuesday that Inspector General Michael Horowitz “expects” to receive a report on potential Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) abuse by “May or June.”

While appearing on “The Ingraham Angle,” Jordan — appearing alongside fellow Republican Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) — said to host Laura Ingraham that Horowitz confirmed to him and Meadows during a Tuesday meeting that a report on possible FISA abuse is “expect[ed]” to be received within the next two months.

This backs Attorney General William Barr‘s statement to Congress from earlier that day.

“[Horowitz] said exactly what the attorney general said. He said that in May or June he expects his report. If you remember the last one, last year: he’s the one who told us about [former FBI Deputy Director] Andy McCabe, who lied three times under oath.”

Jordan went on to say that they “expect” Horowitz to continue to “do the good work he has always done” and lauded Barr for his professionalism.

“The attorney general has handled himself so professionally. So solid, so steady. I think [he’s] what the American people want in an attorney general.”

“I’ve been very impressed with him,” added the Ohio Republican.

Last year, Horowitz announced that he would be launching an investigation into “applications filed with the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court” by FBI and Department of Justice officials after requests from Republican Members of Congress and former Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

They accused the officials of abusing the FISA process when looking into President Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and the people involved.

Last month, former Trump campaign aide Carter Page — who was targeted by a FISA warrant during the 2016 election — said he “would have fought back” against Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into the Trump campaign when asked if he would have done anything differently at the time, as IJR Red previously reported.
