The University of Pennsylvania’s president, Amy Gutmann, announced on Tuesday that Biden will now take on the role of professor.
Biden’s new title will be soon be Benjamin Franklin Presidential Practice Professor. And as such, Biden will lead the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement. The center will be based out of Washington, D.C., according to The Daily Pennsylvanian.

Gutmann expressed her excitement over the new addition to the UPenn family in an official statement in which she broke the news. Gutmann writes:
“Joe Biden is one of the greatest statesmen of our times,” said Gutmann.
“In his distinguished career of service to our nation, he has demonstrated a unique capacity to bring people together across divides and to craft constructive responses to some of the toughest and most important policy challenges of our day,” she continued.
