Joe Scarborough Claimed Trump Is Stopping Red Cross From Seeing Migrants — It Sets the Record Straight

On Friday, MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough claimed President Donald Trump’s administration was stopping the American Red Cross from visiting and treating immigrant children held in detention centers.

Scarborough made his claim after the organization stated it has yet to receive permission to access the centers:

“What do Trump and Pence have to hide?” Scarborough asked in response:

The Red Cross responded to Scarborough, saying it has not been banned:

The MSNBC co-host pushed back on the Red Cross’ tweet, saying to “leave the spin to Sarah Huckabee Sanders”:

“We have been in contact at many different levels of the Administration to offer our help with the border situation,” the Red Cross added. “Officials have welcomed and appreciated the discussions, understand our capabilities, and know that Red Cross help is available.”
