Just after his meeting with President Donald Trump, rapper Kanye West announced that he had a slight modification to make to the president’s signature slogan.

While appearing at a Washington, D.C., Apple store, West indicated that Trump himself approved of a hat that said “Make America Great” without the “Again.”

The “again” part was harmful to black people, he reportedly said.

Others have criticized Trump’s slogan for being insensitive to the suffering that took place during slavery and the civil rights era.

West himself caught flak for suggesting that slavery was a choice, something for which he later apologized:

According to Jack Jenkins of Religion News Services, West left the store and said he would visit Africa:

West met with Trump in the Oval Office on Thursday, where the two shared an embrace.

“I love this guy right here,” West said before giving Trump a hug:

West met with Trump to discuss jobs, prison, and violence in Chicago. While there, he seemed to specifically address gun violence:

“The problem is illegal guns, illegal guns is the problem. Not legal guns. We have the right to bear arms,” he said.

He also said that while he loved former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, he didn’t like her slogan “I’m with her” as much as Trump’s MAGA hats:

“It was something about when I put this hat on, it made me feel like Superman,” he said.

  1. While I still don’t approve of the sentiment behind West’s edit, the original wording by that racist, Trumpov, includes HIS true sentiment.

Trumpov is using West and it seems that West can’t see that.
