The singer is no stranger to the world of politics.
Last year, Kid Rockreleased a song titled, âWe the People,â taking aim at policies related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
âWear your mask. Take your pills. Now a whole generation is mentally ill,â Kid Rock sings in the song.
He also sings, âCOVIDâs near. Itâs coming to town. We gotta act quick, shut our borders down. Joe Biden does, the media embraces. Big Don does it, and they call him racist.â
Kid Rock also addresses inflation, saying it is âup like the minimum wage. So itâs all the same. Not a damn thing changed.â
In 2017, Kid Rock appeared to tease a Senate run on social media.
âI have had a ton of emails and texts asking me if this website is real⌠http://kidrockforsenate.com
The answer is an absolute YES,â he tweeted at the time.
However, he later said during an interview it was a stunt.
âI told Eminemâs manager the other night â I saw him at the Pistons game when he got cheered and I got booed, according to the New York Times â I said, letâs not let this divide us,â Kid Rocksaid.
He continued, âI said, âDude, I started this s***. Iâve got motherf***ers thinking Iâm running for Senate.â People who are in on it are like, âAre you really doing it?â Iâm like: âDude, youâre f***ing in on the joke! Why you asking me if Iâm doing it?â â
