Krauthammer & O’Reilly Clash Over Inauguration Singers: ‘You’re Not Summoned to Perform for the King’

Hollywood’s A-listers aren’t exactly queuing up along Pennsylvania Avenue for a chance to perform at President-elect Trump’s Inauguration.

And Bill O’Reilly thinks he knows why.

In an interview with Fox News contributor Charles Krauthammer, O’Reilly posed the question:

“Do you believe that some — maybe many — entertainers are frightened to [perform at the Inauguration] because they think their careers may be harmed?”

But Krauthammer wasn’t taking the bait:

“I have no idea. Thus far you’ve presented no evidence to that effect.”

The two Fox News veterans battled back and forth, with O’Reilly trying to persuade Krauthammer of the “reverse McCarthyism” that he believes is at play — to no avail.

When O’Reilly pointed out the fact that President George W. Bush had a star-studded Inauguration, but Trump will not, Krauthammer scoffed:

“Wayne Newton? Is that your A-List?

You know, I find it hard to get exercised over the fact that we may be short a Rockette at the Inaugural celebration.”

Then came the real kicker:

“They don’t want to play for Donald Trump. This is a republic. You are not summoned to perform for the king or for the dictator. In some places, if Kim Jong-un calls you to sing, you better show up.”

While Krauthammer was speaking, O’Reilly interjected with “Bull, bull!”

Declaring that Krauthammer “knows nothing” about Hollywood, he stated that celebrities would perform for Joseph Stalin if they thought it would help their careers.
