It would seem that reality TV star and aspiring cosmetics mogul Kylie Jenner shouldn’t have much trouble building a successful business.
She comes from a wealthy and famous family, and “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” is a perfect platform for free advertising. A recent episode of the show even featured Kylie’s company, Kylie Cosmetics, contending with a re-stocking issue.
But according to E!, the Better Business Bureau hasn’t given the kindest of reviews for Kylie’s company. In fact, they handed the reality star an “F” rating — the lowest rating a business can receive.
The reason behind the poor grade?
Over the course of 12 months, Kylie Cosmetics has received 133 complaints.
The BBB also notes that other factors contributed to the low grade:
- Length of time business has been operating
- 3 complaint(s) filed against business that were not resolved
- Business has failed to resolve underlying cause(s) of a pattern of complaints
The numerous complaints were said to mostly involve shipping issues:
“Currently, the BBB is receiving multiple complaints from this company’s customers claiming that after ordering and paying for products, some or all of the products are not being shipped as expected.”
Kylie recently addressed the shipping problems, explaining that the recognizable packaging emboldened thieves to take products right out of boxes. She reportedly updated the packaging to have a black exterior.
But this isn’t the first complaint lobbed against Kylie. The Huffington Post reports that workers have complained about her factory being like a “sweatshop,” and having to endure working long hours with minimal pay. TMZ also reported a glitch on Kylie Cosmetics website which exposed customers’ personal information.
Kylie’s now getting a lot of tweets like this:
Kylie Jenner literally got an F from the Better Business Bureau I can't stop laughing

Though this rating is surely bad news for Kylie, her business appears to be expanding.
A recent social media update features the reality TV star looking for potential retail spaces for her line. Kylie has yet to respond publicly to the poor BBB rating.
