Leahy Tells Sessions ‘You Can’t Run Forever’ After He Cancels Hearing

On Sunday morning, Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Verm.) took to Twitter, launching a three-part message to Attorney General Jeff Sessions. The impetus was that Sessions had, for the second time in two months, canceled an appearance at a hearing conducted by the Senate Appropriations Committee, which Leahy is the ranking Democrat on:

Sessions will be still testifying Tuesday, but it will be in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee, though it’s not yet clear if the session will be open or closed. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein will be testifying in front of Leahy’s committee, though.
