Limo Burned by Trump Protesters Belongs to Muslim Immigrant–Now Trump Supporters are Stepping Up…

Last Friday afternoon, just hours after President Trump was sworn in as the 45th President of the United States, protests in D.C. turned into violent riots.

Local businesses were destroyed and people were attacked by the marauding thugs. This reporter was there and was teargassed. At one point in the chaos, the protesters turned their sights on a black limousine parked nearby. In a video that has shocked much of the nation, these same protesters set the limo on fire, jeering in celebration until the D.C. police and fire department arrived.

The limo set ablaze belonged to a Muslim immigrant, Muhammad Ashraf, owner of Nationwide Chauffeured Services, a company that has served the DC-Maryland-Virginia (DMV) area for more than 20 years. The destroyed limo could cost upwards of $90,000 to replace.

According to an interview with Red Alert Politics, Mr. Ashraf said that he didn’t vote for Trump but doesn’t support this vile behavior either.

I have a different point of view…I did not agree with many of the things he {Trump} said, but that still does not give them the right to go and affect someone’s livelihood.

However, help can often be found in the most unexpected places.

A Florida couple, who are Trump supporters and voted for him, heard about the destroyed limo and decided to do something about it. Mike and Marlo Denning, owners of Elegant Limousines located in Daytona Beach, Florida, created a Go Fund Me fundraising page the day after the limo was burned. The couple has raised over $6,000 of their $20,000 goal in just the last 48 hours.

The Dennings told Independent Journal Review that they spoke with Mr. Ashraf twice. Mr. Ashraf is still waiting to hear back from the insurance company on whether it will pay for the damage the Trump protesters caused. Mr. Denning said:

“Most insurance companies have loopholes saying they do not cover vandalism, riots or terrorism,” Mike said. What people don’t realize is that 90 percent of the limo companies in the world are mom and pop operations. It could potentially put them out of business.”

The kind gesture has not gone unnoticed by Muhammad Ashraf. Monday morning, his company thanked Mr. and Mrs. Denning for their heartwarming act. He wrote on Facebook:

We all at Nationwide Chauffeured Services appreciate you and your wife’s kind gesture and support. We also would like to say our thanks everyone who has shown their support.

Everyone here at Nationwide Chauffeured Services are overwhelmed by what you and your wife did. It is always very nice to know there are still many kind people left in this world who feel other’s pain and have beautiful hearts.

Once again thanks everyone.

Mr. Ashraf told the Dennings that he plans to use the money raised to replace the limo and give the rest to his employee, Luis Villarroel, 58, who was hurt during the ordeal. Villarroel was dropping off a client when the anti-Trump anarchist protesters starting pelting him with rocks. He had to go to the hospital with cuts and scrapes.

Other reports that place the estimated damage at $70,000, but Mike and Marlo know the true value of the custom, stretched, Lincoln limo.

That limo is a stretch MKT, just purchased from Lincoln. So it’s looking that just to replace it will be around $90,000. They are specifically made by Lincoln to be turned into limos. It was Lincoln’s replacement for the Lincoln Towncar.

Mike and Marlo Denning want people to know that they did this regardless of politics or personal gain. They did this, they told IJR, because “it’s the right thing to do.”

The Go Fund Me has been up less than 48 hours and we have had a outpouring of support. This is a terrible thing to do whether you voted for the other person or not. We are going to keep fighting. We never even knew the guy that this happened to before it happened. But what people didn’t know is that the limo industry is a very tight-knit industry. We knew that we had to do something now. We are Trump supporters. We have friends that are Hillary supporters. We respect them for their view.

In the end, it’s not politics that matters, it’s the heart.
