Louie Gohmert Interrupts Colleague Who Says Everyone Respects Mueller: ‘I Don’t’

During a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Wednesday, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) made a point of clarifying that he wasn’t among those who respected special counsel Robert Mueller.

After Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) told Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein that everyone on the House Judiciary Committee supported Mueller’s appointment as FBI director, he went on to claim everyone respected Mueller as well.

Gohmert, according to Los Angeles Times reporter Chris Megerian, leaned in before interjecting, “I don’t.” Gohmer, who also said “I didn’t,” seemed to indicate that the didn’t support Mueller’s appointment as FBI director either.

“Obviously, we knew that would be an exception,” Cohen responded before claiming that Republicans liked Mueller before he started investigating President Donald Trump.

“But the fact is, they didn’t start to dislike him until he started to get — issues that affected the president that currently serves this country,” Cohen said.
