Waters has been a longtime critic of Trump, even becoming one of the very first House Democrats to call for his impeachment.
Calls for impeachment were taken to the mainstream last week after Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) announced a formal impeachment inquiry based on President Trump’s conversations with Ukrainian leadership. Pelosi and House Democrats argue that Trump withheld military aid from Ukraine in order to get dirt on 2020 contender Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.
Although the quid pro quo nature of the call is being heavily debated between Democrats and Republicans, both sides have been steering clear of condemning the whistleblower who brought the phonecalls to the national stage.
Most lawmakers side with Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), who said, “We should always work to respect whistleblowers’ requests for confidentiality.”
President Trump, however, has said he intends to find out who the whistleblower is.
….the Whistleblower, and also the person who gave all of the false information to him. This is simply about a phone conversation that could not have been nicer, warmer, or better. No pressure at all (as confirmed by Ukrainian Pres.). It is just another Democrat Hoax!

Trump’s calls for the identity of the whistleblower to be released hasn’t sat well with several, including Waters.
However, Waters’s reaction may be the most aggressive coming out of Capitol Hill.
In a tweet posted on Tuesday afternoon, Waters claimed Trump should be held in solitary confinement for his comments about the whistleblower.
“I’m calling on the GOP to stop Trump’s filthy talk of whistleblowers being spies & using mob language implying they should be killed,” Waters tweeted. “Impeachment is not good enough for Trump. He needs to be imprisoned [and] placed in solitary confinement. But for now, impeachment is the imperative.”

This is not the first time Waters has made a shocking statement about the president. As IJR reported at the time, she also called for members of the Trump administration to be harassed in public so they know they are “not welcome.”
