Maxine Waters: ‘Damn This President,’ He Will ‘Never’ Be Presidential

While speaking to the Teamsters Union on Sunday, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) went beyond merely criticizing President Donald Trump and condemned him.

“Damn this president!” she told the local Teamsters chapter in Los Angeles. “We’re not going to let him destroy organized labor,” she added. Waters claimed that Trump brought the country close to a constitutional crisis.

She also countered the idea that Trump would eventually become “presidential,” saying that “he’s never going to be presidential because he does not respect the Constitution of the United States of America.”

Watch her speech below:

Democrats, Waters said, were the ones who stood by organized labor and provided for “the least of these.”

“Whether it is health care, or whether it is food stamps, or whether it is any of the issues dealing with the least of these […] it has not been Republicans. It is always Democrats,” she said.

She seemed to respond to claims that some union members were dissatisfied with Democratic governance not providing them enough help.

In response to Waters’ inflammatory comments, many criticized her on Twitter:

This was just the latest instance of Waters lobbing harsh criticism toward the president. Early in March, she called the president “disoriented” and told Americans to “get ready for impeachment”:

Trump, for his part, mocked Waters and called her a “low IQ individual.”
