‘Nadler Can’t Handle the Gavel’: McCarthy Slams Nadler for His ‘Manufactured Outrage’ Over Barr

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (D-Calif.) slammed House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) for pushing a “manufactured crisis” against Attorney General William Barr on Thursday.

Nadler and his fellow Democrats on the Judiciary Committee have taken steps to hold Barr in contempt of Congress for his refusal to turn over a fully-unredacted version of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report.

Although Barr offered a less-redacted version of the report to Congress, they claim that doesn’t cut it. Barr claimed that turning over the fully unredacted report would breach the Department of Justice guidelines that protect sensitive information from the Grand Jury.

Right now, Congress has the ability to see all but two full lines and seven partial sentences of the report, but they still might hold Barr in contempt.

During a meeting with the press, McCarthy claimed this display by Nadler is enough to question his position as chair. He claimed Nadler shouldn’t have the gavel to lead the Judiciary Committee.

Watch McCarthy’s press conference:

“Six hours was the amount of time Chairman Nadler and his members of the House Judiciary Committee wasted yesterday discussing their manufactured attempt against Attorney General Barr. If you listen to it, a question continues to be raised that Nadler can’t even handle the gavel.”

Nadler is the second House committee chairman to have his authority questioned by Republicans. As IJR Red previously reported, House Republicans also questioned Intel Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) because of his refusal to drop the Russian conspiracy narrative, despite the findings of the Mueller report.

While McCarthy hasn’t gone as far as asking for a resignation, it is clear he believes that Nadler can’t handle his role leading the Judiciary Committee.

Nadler’s push for contempt charges has drawn some scrutiny, given his change of position on the issue since Obama-era Attorney General Eric Holder was held in contempt. As IJR Red previously reported, Nadler claimed the Republican efforts to hold Holder in contempt were “shameful” and “politically motivated.”

Nadler is ‘handling’ something all right, but it is just too obscene to talk about.

It’s interesting Nadler describes AG Holder and his contempt of Congress charge as being “politically motivated” by the Republicans. NOW that it’s GOP AG Barr who is abiding by the Laws Congress wrote, he’s on the Left screaming like a little girl for all the documents and (toilet) paperwork. Different strokes for different folks – Socialist Party rule #101. Pound sand, Nadler.

Of course, it’s manufactured. Otherwise, the Democrats would have to come up with legislation to pass.
