A study found that Senator Bernie Sanders’ “Medicare for All” health care plan would cost Americans a laughable $32.6 trillion.
According to the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, Sanders’ plan would rack up that $32.6 trillion in just the first 10 years.
According to the authors of the study, these numbers are conservative estimates. For the plan to cost a minimum of $32.6 trillion, lawmakers would need to negotiate lower payments to providers and drastically reduce the cost of medications.
If Americans double all corporate and individual federal income taxes, they would still fail to pay for Sanders’ plan.
Beyond the absurd costs for the plan, the study shows that the quality of care provided would fall too. This is because the demand for service would climb as payments to providers are cut.
The authors could not predict how the medical industry would respond to the changes, stating, “It cannot be known how much providers will react to these losses by reducing the availability of existing health services, the quality of such services, or both.”
Conservatives have warned about the costs and potential risks of socialized medicine for years. They took to Twitter to run a victory lap after reading the results of the study.
For perspective, the entire federal budget is $4 trillion, revenues are $3.3 trillion. Bernie’s fantasy Medicare for All plan would consume close to 100% of federal revenue. https://t.co/B2XntFqRFh

Lately, Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Sanders have been on the campaign trail together in hopes of flipping red districts — or if you ask Ocasio-Cortez, keeping seats red.
Top story: @TimRunsHisMouth: ‘WATCH AND LAUGH: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is in Kansas City with Bernie Sanders…”to flip this seat RED in November!”

Although Sanders has been a Senator since 2007, Ocasio-Cortez surprised many when she defeated incumbent Joe Crowley (D-N.Y.) in the Democrat primary.
