FLOTUS Shares How She Gracefully Rises Above the Criticism: ‘I Do What I Think Is Right’

During an interview with Sean Hannity, first lady Melania Trump gave insight into how she deals with criticism.

On Wednesday, Trump visited multiple military bases and received a warm welcome from service members. However, some Americans and members of the media have criticized the first lady for her lifestyle.

Trump does not let the criticism bother her and says she tries to do her best.

“I do what I think is right. I know I will get the criticism – from the public or from the media – but I will do what is right and what I feel is right for the country and for the people,” Trump said. “That’s why I say I want to stay true to myself and listen to myself and what to do and what is right, what is wrong and live a meaningful life every day.”

She was also asked about how informed she was about current events and if she discusses her opinion with the president.

“I follow what’s going on. And I give my husband advice and my honest opinion,” Trump said. “And sometimes he listens and sometimes he doesn’t … I don’t agree with his tone sometimes and I tell him that.”

Trump brought up her past experience as a model and says that is how she’s able to take the criticism lightly.

“I took a lot of steps, it’s not just like you end up here. You learn a lot on the way here. In my business, the fashion business, it’s a tough business as well … You need to have a very thick skin.”

While the criticism doesn’t hurt, the first lady warned about the issues with accepting speculation as truth.

“It doesn’t hurt. The problem is they’re writing history and it’s not correct,” she said.

No disrespect, but she needs to work on that accent.
