First lady Melania Trump has spoken up after the former White House aide, Omarosa Manigault-Newman, attacked the first lady’s marriage to President Donald Trump.

Melania’s communications director, Stephanie Grisham, said the first lady “rarely, if ever, interacted” with Manigault-Newman, according to the Washington Examiner.
“It’s disappointing to her that she is lashing out and retaliating in such a self-serving way, especially after all the opportunities given to her by the President,” Grisham told the Washington Examiner.Alex Wong/Getty Images
In her book, Manigault-Newman makes critical claims aimed at the Trump marriage.
“In my opinion, Melania is counting every minute until he is out of office and she can divorce him,” Manigault-Newman writes.
She adds that if Melania were to leave Trump while in the White House, he would find a way to “invalidate” her citizenship, the Washington Examiner reported.Sean Gallup/Getty Images
Trump was not so happy and also responded to Manigault-Newman’s many claims:

When you give a crazed, crying lowlife a break, and give her a job at the White House, I guess it just didn’t work out. Good work by General Kelly for quickly firing that dog!

Manigault-Newman also portrays Melania as revengeful, referring to how the first lady rejected holding hands with her husband in Israel in 2017.
“At any time, if she so desired, she could humiliate him in public with small, ambiguous gestures, just as he’d openly humiliated her with his affairs and lascivious behavior for years. And there was nothing anyone could do to stop her,” Manigault-Newman writes.
