Michele Bachmann: We May ‘Never See a More Godly, Biblical President’ Than Trump

Former Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) raised a few eyebrows recently when she declared that President Donald Trump is the most biblical president that she’s seen in her lifetime.

Bachmann was part of the Tea Party faction of Congress that gained power during the early days of the Obama administration. She represented a district in Minnesota from 2007 to 2015.

“In my lifetime, I have never seen a more biblical president than I have seen in Donald Trump. He has so impressed me with what he has done,” Bachmann said during a recent radio interview.

“I would say to your listeners, we will, in all likelihood, never see a more godly, biblical president again in our lifetimes,” she said moments later. “So we need to be not only praying for him, we need to support him, in my opinion, in every possible way that we can.”

Here’s the audio of Bachmann’s comments, recorded via Right Wing Watch:

There’s no doubt that Trump has made strides to align himself with the evangelical right, most notably with his decision to tap Vice President Mike Pence as his running mate.

Even so, Bachmann’s comments earned a few chuckles on social media. Washington Post reporter Aaron Blake pointed out that former President Jimmy Carter was a Sunday school teacher and that former President Dwight D. Eisenhower added “God” to U.S. paper money.

Max Burns, who works for the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights organization, joked: “[I’m] really starting to suspect none of these people own an actual Bible.”

Vice correspondent Roberto Ferdman pointed out that in 2016, Trump incorrectly “called Second Corinthians ‘Two Corinthians'” during a speech at Liberty University, a Christian school, and then promptly misquoted the Bible.

Meanwhile, Trump has been divorced twice and paid off a porn star to keep quiet about an alleged affair that happened while he was with his current wife. But he’s still managed to encourage a number of Christian leaders, including Liberty University president Jerry Falwell Jr.

Don’t see how any of this really matters since the Dimwit Party has repeatedly voiced its’ objections to any references to “God” and since they have rejected religion in its’ entirety. Maybe the Dimwits are gearing up for a transition to “Allah”, Shar’ia Law and executing “infidels”. Wonder what flag… Read more »

“In my lifetime, I have never seen a more biblical president than I have seen in Donald Trump. He has so impressed me with what he has done,” Michele Bachmann is obviously lying. She is rabidly religious, therefore she would know exactly how “godly” or “biblical” Trump is or isn’t.… Read more »
