Michelle and Barack Obama Dance the Night Away at a Beyonce Concert

Now that they’ve left the White House, Michelle and Barack Obama are free to do a lot of things that presidents and first ladies can’t always do — like spin each other around to the music of Beyonce at a Saturday night concert. And that’s just what they did.

On Saturday night, Michelle and Barack were spotted at a Beyonce and Jay-Z concert outside Washington D.C. at FedEx Field, more commonly known as the stadium where the Washington Redskins play. More than a few concertgoers managed to get pictures and videos of the couple. They were actually in a box overlooking the stadium.

The pair have been friends with Beyonce and Jay-Z for years and the singers were spotted at more than a few White House events. Beyonce even sang the National Anthem at Obama’s second inauguration in 2013. While the Obama fans were happy to see the former president and first lady enjoying themselves, not everybody was pleased by the spectacle. CNN host, Jake Tapper, seemed to criticize the couple, writing on Twitter “the Democratic party is the weakest it has been since the 1920’s.”

For Michelle Obama, it was her second Beyonce concert in as many weeks. The former first lady was spotted with Beyonce’s mother in Paris in mid-July where she was dancing near the front of the stage.

While the Obama’s have been mostly dodging the spotlight in the Trump era, Barack Obama has been quietly holding meetings with politicians who are looking to get into the 2020 race. He has sat down with Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, both names that are regularly at the front of the pack in the 2020 conversation. And, according to a recent CNBC report, Barack Obama will soon be back on the campaign trail and hitting the stump for Democrats in the midterm elections. Sources told the outlet that Obama will be getting on the road in September.
