Michelle Obama is perhaps the best person in the world to give advice to Meghan Markle — they both grew up as anonymous Americans and became names known around the world.
In a recent interview with Good Housekeeping, the former first lady dished on the advice that she would give the Duchess of Sussex. Obama said, “My biggest piece of advice would be to take some time and don’t be in a hurry to do anything.”
As Markle and Obama have both worked to champion the achievements of women, Obama advised the Duchess, “There’s so much opportunity to do good with a platform like that – and I think Meghan can maximize her impact for others, as well her own happiness, if she’s doing something that resonates with her personally.”
Obama is currently touring for her new memoir, “Becoming,” which has been flying off the shelves and tickets to her events are going at skyrocket prices.
On Monday, Obama even traveled across the pond where she gave a book talk before a sold-out crowd in London. During that talk, she gave a few juicy details, including mentioning that Queen Elizabeth once confessed to her that she believes the royal protocols are “rubbish” and saying that Barack Obama is a huge admirer of the queen.
During that talk, she also spoke about the current political climate in the United States but, as always, dodged the big question — does she have any presidential ambitions? Obama has said that she has no intention of trying to make a run at the Oval Office, but most political junkies agree that if she changed her mind, she would be the front-runner in what is shaping up to be an incredibly crowded Democratic field.
