“Morning Joe” host Mika Brzezinski was beyond belief at President Donald Trump‘s denial of a sexual assault allegation and equated it to a pattern of behavior that the president has turned to when women come forward with their stories.
“I’ll say it with great respect: Number one, she’s not my type,” Trump told The Hill on Monday. “Number two, it never happened. It never happened, OK?”
“We’re talking about sexual assault, we’re talking about actual rape and the president said that she’s not his type so I guess the follow-up question is since you have a type when it comes to rape, what’s your type, Donald Trump?” Brzezinski asked. “And is it any of the other women who claimed that you raped them? What is your type, since you have a type, that you would rape?”
Brzezinski, along with co-host Joe Scarborough and contributor Elise Jordan, pointed out Trump’s pattern of defending himself from sexual assault accusations by attacking the looks of the women in question.

In 2016, prior to election day, Trump said that accuser Jessica Leeds “would not be my first choice” and brushed aside another accusation from Natasha Stoynoff by telling his supporter, “Check out her Facebook page – you’ll understand.”
While Brzezinski was upset by Trump’s comments, she said the Republican lawmaker allies that continue to defend the president are part of the problem.
“I need to know why all of you are so weak and so spineless that you would actually stand up for a man who says ‘this is not the woman I would rape, she’s not my type,’ meaning he would rape another woman,” she said. “You explain to me why that’s ok and why you go on every day looking in the mirror and doing your job and thinking this is the president you should support.”
E. Jean Carroll, the Elle advice columnist who came forward with her accusation of rape last week, graciously took Trump’s comment about her.
“I love that I’m not his type,” she said on CNN Monday night.
