Since Democrats took back control of the House of Representatives during the 2018 midterm elections, they have tried pushing legislation that the Republican-led Senate wants no part of.
During Thursday’s press conference, Pelosi pointed to a posterboard listing off several bills that have found themselves in “McConnell’s graveyard.”
As IJR Red previously reported, the Senate majority leader vowed to be the “Grim Reaper” of progressive policies in Congress.
“If I’m still the majority leader in the Senate, think of me as the Grim Reaper,” he previously said. “None of that stuff is going to pass.”
“For the first time in my memory, I agree with Nancy Pelosi,” McConnell told Fox News’ Laura Ingraham in response.
During an appearance on “The Ingraham Angle” late Thursday, McConnell said the speaker of the House “got it absolutely right” to say he takes “pride” in calling himself the “Grim Reaper.”
“I am indeed the Grim Reaper when it comes to the socialist agenda […] things that would turn us into a country we’ve never been,” he said.
“This is full-bore socialism on the march in the House, and yeah, as long I’m the majority leader of the Senate, none of that stuff is going anywhere,” McConnell added.

Among those policies that McConnell said he would knock down are the Green New Deal and “Medicare for All” health care.
McConnell crushed Democrats’ hopes of the health care plan when he previously told Fox News that he believes “it ought to be called ‘Medicare for none,'” as IJR Red noted.
“You want to turn America into a socialist country, this is the first step,” he said.
