In Morning Tweetstorm, Trump Attacks Lindsey Graham, Fake News, and Jeff Flake

President Donald Trump took to Twitter on Thursday morning to harp on one of his favorite topics — the “fake news” — as well as to attack two Republican senators.

The president began by going after South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham:

Trump’s tweets make reference to a statement released by Graham on Wednesday in which he said he does not “endorse this moral equivalency” that Trump claimed existed between neo-Nazi protesters and murdered activist Heather Heyer.

From there, the president moved on to the “fake news”:

Similarly to Graham, the news media has been vocal about their distaste for Trump’s reaction to the recent events in Charlottesville, Virginia, taking issue largely with his delayed response and his inflammatory press conference on Tuesday.

Lastly came a tweet about Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake.

Trump, calling him “Flake Jeff Flake, who is WEAK on borders,” seemingly throws his support behind Kelli Ward, who recently announced she would run against Flake for his Senate seat:

Thursday’s tweets mark a return to form, of sorts, for a president who often takes to Twitter to lambaste members of Congress. Most recently, Trump has gone after Mitch McConnell, Richard Blumenthal, and Lisa Murkowski.
