Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar could face serious consequences over her inflammatory remarks about Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk following his assassination on Wednesday.

Republican South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace unveiled a resolution on Monday that would formally censure Omar and strip the far-left “Squad” member of her committee assignments over her comments on Kirk’s slaying. Mace told reporters that she would file a privileged motion on Tuesday — meaning she will unilaterally force the House to vote on the measure as early as this week.

“She is inciting violence against conservatives in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s political assassination,” Mace said in a video filmed outside Omar’s office on Monday evening. “She is dehumanizing conservatives all across the country, calling Charlie Kirk a terrorist.”

“I’m not going to be silent on this because enough is enough,” Mace continued.

Omar told Zeteo News’ Mehdi Hasan on Thursday that it is “f-ed up” for Americans to memorialize Kirk for his good works.

“I think there are a lot of people out there talking about him just wanting to have a civil debate,” Omar said. “There is nothing more f-ed up than to completely pretend that his words and actions have not been recorded and in existence for the last decade or so.”

“These people are full of shit and it’s important for us to call them out,” Omar added.

Omar would be removed from her position on the House Committee on Education and Workforce and the Budget Committee if Mace’s resolution passes the House. Republicans notably failed to strip Democratic New Jersey Rep. LaMonica McIver — who is alleged to have assaulted law enforcement officers — of her membership on the Homeland Security Committee on Sept. 3 after five GOP lawmakers joined Democrats in defeating a resolution offered by Republican Louisiana Rep. Clay Higgins.

Omar also reposted a video characterizing Kirk as a “reprehensible human being” and a “stochastic terrorist,” sparking outrage from Republicans.

“Kirk was a reprehensible human being. He enacted his political agenda by preying on weak-minded people,” the video says. “He was a stochastic terrorist, an adamant transphobe … he believed in the subjugation of women and with his last dying words he was spewing racist dog whistles.”

Republican Georgia Rep. Buddy Carter also introduced a resolution on Monday that would oust Omar from her two current committees, Fox News Digital first reported.

Speaker Mike Johnson told reporters on Monday that he has not decided whether to hold a vote on either measure.

“We’ll have to talk about it, I haven’t even seen them yet,” Johnson said.
