For Week 13 of the NFL season, the league allowed players to have customized cleats that support a charity of their choosing as part of its “My Cause, My Cleats” campaign. Charities that were represented included the Salvation Army, the Special Olympics, the Pat Tillman Foundation, and World Vision.
Cleveland Browns fullback Danny Vitale decided to choose a charity that honors one of America’s greatest heroes. He represented the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation, named in honor of the legendary Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle.danvitale40/Instagram danvitale40/Instagram
“Honored to support the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation (@ckffdn) during the NFL’s ‘My Cause My Cleats’ weekend,” Vitale wrote on Instagram. “The mission of the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation is to honor God, Country, and Families who serve by providing experiences that strengthen military and first-responder marriages and families.”danvitale40/Instagram danvitale40/Instagram
Kyle’s widow, Taya Kyle, loved the cleats and thanked Vitale for representing the charity: “Danny values family and understands how impactful it is to have a happy marriage leading the family through life’s struggles. Combine that with his passion for supporting those who serve and we have a big supporter in @danvitale40. We are grateful!”
