The National Christmas tree was toppled due to excessive winds near the White House.

According to WTOP News, the tree fell around 1 p.m. Tuesday. A National Parks Service spokesperson stated, “After assessing the tree’s condition and replacing a snapped cable, the tree is now upright as of 6 p.m.”

But that didn’t stop social media users from using the situation to comment on the state of the nation.

The Citizen Free Press posted to X, formerly Twitter, displaying an image of the fallen tree with the caption, “A fitting image of the Biden White House.”

The Young Americans for Liberty organization noted the tree falling was “Symbolism.”

News Anchor Adam Longo stated, “NEW: the National Christmas tree is DOWN!”

NEW: the National Christmas tree is DOWN! Today’s winds have toppled it over. We’re trying to get video or pics but the entire area is cordoned off by crews who are setting up the area for Thursday’s ceremony.

Comedian Jimmy Failla joked, “The wind just knocked over the National Christmas tree. Crazy stuff but it’s nice to see something falling at the White House besides Biden.”

Amy Kremer, co-founder of Women for Trump posted video footage of the tree being lifted up by a crane and noted, “It’s still not standing on its own. It appears to be as wobbly as Biden.”

The group then added, “This administration is in shambles.”

Despite the response, WTOP News reported the Parks Service stated they believe the tree lighting ceremony will be able to proceed on Thursday as scheduled.
