In a now-deleted tweet posted on Tuesday, Occupy Wall Street posted disturbing directions for migrants encountering Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents who are trying to “take” their children.

The post, entitled “What To Do If You Encounter An ICE Agent,” showed an immigrant stabbing an agent and pulling out his heart as a threat to other agents:

“Hold his bloody heart out for all other agents to see, and tell them that the same fate awaits them if they f**k with your child again,” the final step in the post read.

The account @OccupyWallStNYC appeared to delete that tweet and indicated it might have been satirical:

The post featured a Google search for the word “satire” and included different definitions.

But the post was enough to provoke backlash on Twitter:

Occupy Wall Street’s tweet came as the nation grappled with a crisis at the border where authorities separated immigrant families if they entered the United States illegally.

While Democrats lampooned the president for his actions, the president blamed congressional Democrats for not passing legislation to address border security.

The administration portrayed the situation as an unfortunate consequence of immigration law rather than stemming from a policy it initiated:
