A petition hosted by the liberal group MoveOn is hoping to make a change that is sure to fire up President Trump, with a petition to rename of a stretch of New York’s Fifth Avenue to “President Barack H. Obama Avenue.” The strip of street that they want to be changed also just happens to include Trump Tower.

On their website, the group writes in the petition, “we request the stretch of Fifth Avenue between 56th and 57th Streets be renamed ‘President Barack H. Obama Avenue.’ Any addresses on that stretch of Fifth Avenue should be changed accordingly.” The current address of Trump Tower is 721 Fifth Avenue, and it sits on the corner of 56th street.

In their petition, which will be delivered to New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, MoveOn notes, “The City of Los Angeles recently honored former President Barack Obama by renaming a stretch of the 134 Freeway near Downtown L.A. in his honor.”

They went on to list his accomplishments, noting that Obama was responsible for “saving our nation from the Great Recession; serving two completely scandal-free terms in office; and taking out Osama bin Laden, the mastermind behind September 11th, which killed over 3,000 New Yorkers.”

The petition is quickly nearing the 100,000 signatures that MoveOn says they need to get it to the New York city council.

President Trump has frequently touted his residence on Fifth Avenue. During the campaign, he declared, “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn’t lose any voters.”

So sad. Why not just name it Barry Boulevard, or Hussein Skreet?
Sorry, I’ve had a difficult day😂

At some point, it would be nice to have IJR Blue writer who doesn’t seem to have the topic selection process of a teenager.
