As the Democrat candidate in the Texas Senate race tries to gain Republican incumbent Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-Texas) seat, Hollywood celebrities are loading money into Beto O’Rourke’s campaign — But it might not be working.

Actress Parker, late-night talk show host Kimmel, and comedian O’Donnell each contributed $2,700, according to TMZ, who dug through 2018 Federal Election Commission filings on O’Rourke.

Comedian Chelsea Handler — who previously took aim at Republicans and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) in a “homophobic” tweet — donated $2,500.

Another comedian, Chris Rock, donated $1,000 to the Democrat candidate.

Actress Connie Britton, actor Tate Donovan, and “Star Wars” director Rian Johnson each forked over $5,400 to help O’Rourke.

Comedian Ilana Glazer put in $2,000, while comedian Ike Barinholtz added $1,500 into O’Rourke’s campaign.

Screenwriters also donated a chunk to O’Rourke — “Jurassic Park” writer David Koepp, along with Nicholas Kazan, who wrote “Matilda,” each donated $5,400.

Other Hollywood celebrities such as actress Meryl Streep and actor Jack Black donated to Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO), and O’Donnell donated $2,700 to Democrat Texas House candidate MJ Hegar.

Both of those Democrat candidates are trailing in their races — McCaskill by two and Hegar by 16.

Is it working?

Despite the Hollywood celebrities’ donations to O’Rourke, Cruz takes a 6.5-average lead with only four days left until Election Day, according to RealClearPolitics.
