O’Rourke Says There Would Be ‘Consequences’ for Many Gun Owners If They Don’t Comply

2020 Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke said there will “have to be consequences” for AR-15 owners who do not abide by a mandatory gun buyback law and surrender their guns.

In an interview with Joe Scarborough the host of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” O’Rourke was asked how the federal government would handle a situation where an AR-15 owner refused to give up their gun:

“Let’s just assume there’s a rancher in Texas that doesn’t, that says, ‘I’m not going to do this because this is an unjust law and it’s unconstitutional.’ What’s the next step? I think that’s what we need to concede because there will be people that don’t turn the guns back in. What’s the next step for the federal government there?”

O’Rourke said that “as with any law that is not followed or flagrantly abused, there have to be consequences or else there is no respect for the law,” and continued to say that law enforcement would be sent to the homes of AR-15 owners who refuse to turn in their guns:

“In that case I think there would be a visit by law enforcement to recover that firearm and to make sure that it is purchased, bought back so that it cannot be potentially used against somebody else.”

Watch the video below:

O’Rourke has made gun control a centerpiece of his presidential campaign, saying in the third Democratic presidential debate that he supports a gun confiscation policy:

“Hell yes we’re going to take your AR-15s, your AK-47.”

During the fourth Democratic debate on Tuesday night, O’Rourke sparred with South Bend mayor Pete Buttigieg over their different gun control policies.

Buttigieg called O’Rourke’s gun confiscation policy a “shiny object” that takes away from other gun control policies which in some cases have bipartisan support.

Watch the video below:

O’Rourke defended his policies saying that Buttigieg’s criticism is “a slap in the face to those who have survived gun violence, those who have lost a loved one to an AR-15 or an AK-47.”

So this clown wants to make the same mistake the British made on April 18/19, 1775. It resulted in the first shots in the Revolution. Perhaps that’s what he wants. But hey, when have the Democrats worried about violating citizens Constitutional rights, a few of them.

Come and get it, Bozo. I’m waiting for your kind of Nazi wannabe. (BTW: I just bought a new 30 caliber rifle for just such an “occasion”.) The Civil War starts here.

Let’s just assume Beto O’Rourke has a chance in hell of winning the election . . . .

Dear Beto. Just how do you “buyback” something you never owned? Big talk for a candidate who is still in the basement as far as a chance of ever becoming President. Buttigieg certainly took him on and prevailed. Wonder what his plan would be once he grabbed all those guns? Have a yard sale.

He’s an asshole. Hmmm, if on the snowball chance in hell, he gets elected, he won’t sit long on the throne as the line from Braveheart goes.

“as with any law that is not followed or flagrantly abused, there have to be consequences or else there is no respect for the law,” Except illegal immigrants. Maybe we can have special treatment for “illegal gun owners”. Hypocrite.
