The president of the New York Police Benevolent Association (PBA) shredded New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio in an official statement after the latter announced his bid for the White House.

On Thursday, de Blasio announced in a video that he was joining the crowded Democratic presidential primary field to try to secure the nomination for the right to challenge President Donald Trump for the White House in the 2020 race.

Not long after the announcement, New York PBA President Pat Lynch blasted the Big Apple’s mayor for ignoring the “problems here at home” while being “upstaged” by South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg on the campaign trail, and he torched de Blasio’s decision to run as “laughable”:

It is laughable that a mayor who has shown no interest in running New York City now says he wants to mismanage the entire country. While the mayor of our nation’s largest city is busy running around Iowa and getting upstaged by the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, there are real problems here at home.

Lynch — whose organization represents over 50,000 officers, active and retired — pointed out in the statement that de Blasio had “checked out of [the] contract process” for New York City police officers, which has resulted in “wages 30 percent below market rate” for those serving in law enforcement.

The New York PBA president went on to torch de Blasio, claiming he would be an “unmitigated disaster” if he was to become president based on his “six years of disrespect” to New York City law enforcement.

De Blasio joined a growing Democratic primary field that has now increased to 24 candidates. The announcement prompted a response from Trump, who slammed de Blasio as a “joke” and proclaimed that “NYC hates him!”

De Blasio will have to face off against serious contenders for the nomination, such as former Vice President Joe Biden as well as Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). Biden and Sanders are considered front-runners in the race.

Why do the people of NYC continue to allow this incompetent boob to run their city when he has quite obviously been a disaster? What kind of people voted for this moron?

Living in Tucson even this person cannot stand the NYC mayor who is going to outlaw hot dogs! What? He won’t go after real crimes but he will go after someone who eats a 🌭! Police need to be respected by the mayors office and if the mayor hasn’t respect for officers who have been killed in the line of duty, then he needs to be replaced, period!!!

A little research shows a rookie NYC cop starts at $42,500 with unlimited sick time, medical insurance, and pension. Five years on the force will double that salary and vacation goes to 27 days. Then there is the OT, in 2017 NYPD worked 11,776,939 hours of OT and earned $767M in OT pay. 2,500 NYPD employees took home $40,000+ in OT pay. The math and conclusions are left to the student.

Is it just me, or do you also get the sense that Hissoner Big Bill and the Top Cop of the Union are not BFF’s, and have a few differences of opinion? History teaches that DemLib political hacks who get sideways with unions tend to have “short shelf lives,” if you take my meaning.

Every kid wanted to beat him up when we were in school. He was a liar then as now.

De Blasio is no worse than the rest of the “crowd” of socialists running on the Democrat ticket.
