From England to Scotland to the Big Apple, the outrageously large balloon depicting President Donald Trump as a baby has made its way across the globe and is now going to be floating to Texas for the president’s first 2020 campaign rally.
President Trump announced that his first campaign stop for the 2020 presidential election would be held in El Paso, Texas on Monday — where the “Trump Baby” balloon featuring the president in a diaper and holding a cell phone will be present.
According to the El Paso News, within 14 hours of creating the “Baby Trump Does El Paso” GoFundMe page to raise enough money to ship the baby blimp to Texas from California, the page received the total funding it needed to move the balloon for the rally.
As of publication, the page garnered $4,086, surpassing its goal of $3,500, brought in by 191 donators — the funds will also cover the filing fee.
“He will be joining our protest outside of Trump’s rally at the El Paso County Coliseum,” the page’s organizer, Laura Valdez, wrote.
According to an update on the page, any leftover funds will be donated to the Annunciation House of El Paso, a place that serves the “migrant, refugee, and economically vulnerable peoples of the border region through hospitality, advocacy, and education.”
Valdez updated people on the page on Friday saying, “Baby Trump is in transit on his way to EL Paso!! We are currently working out all the details for the day of,” while also announcing that the fundraiser is closing.
At the Texas rally on Monday at the southern border, President Trump is likely to push his demand for U.S.-Mexico border wall funding. However, from the date of his campaign rally, there will only be four days until the short-term funding bill ends, leaving congressional negotiators looking to find a solution quick.
