Pritzker Tells Trump ‘Do Not Come To Chicago’

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS - AUGUST 25: Flanked by Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson (R), Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker speaks at a news conference with other Illinois politicians and community leaders to address President Donald Trump's plan to send National Guard troops into Chicago on August 25, 2025 in Chicago, Illinois. Besides Chicago, the president on Friday said he planned to target Baltimore and New York as well for his next federal crackdown on crime following days of federal agents working the streets of Washington with DC Metro Police. Trump today appeared to back off from those threats in remarks to reporters. (Photo by Scott Olson/Getty Images)

You almost have to admire the sheer lack of self-awareness coming out of Chicago and Springfield right now. Almost.

President Donald Trump floats the idea of expanding his wildly successful federal takeover of D.C. law enforcement to other crime-ridden blue cities — with Chicago at the top of the list — and suddenly Mayor Brandon Johnson and Gov. JB Pritzker act like he’s sending tanks down Michigan Avenue. The outrage was instant, predictable, and hilariously over-the-top.

Trump didn’t sugarcoat it, either. He flat-out called Johnson “grossly incompetent,” which, let’s be honest, is putting it mildly. This is the same guy who somehow managed to make people nostalgic for Lori Lightfoot — a feat that seemed impossible until Johnson took the job. Chicagoans are drowning in crime, and their mayor’s grand plan is… more community programs, fewer prosecutions, and endless excuses. So when Trump says, “We’ll straighten that one out probably next,” you can almost hear the sighs of relief from the folks who just want to walk their kids to school without dodging carjackings.

But Pritzker? Oh, he couldn’t let that slide. He trotted out in front of cameras, with Johnson by his side, puffed out his chest, and gave his best Resistance impression. “Mr. President, do not come to Chicago. You are neither wanted here nor needed here.” Strong words from a governor whose state is bleeding residents faster than you can say U-Haul rental.

And here’s where it gets rich. Pritzker warned residents that if Trump actually deployed the National Guard, they’d be facing an “unprecedented and difficult time.” Really? Because for most Chicago families, the “unprecedented and difficult time” is already here. They’re living it. Every single day. Shootings, robberies, violent crime — all skyrocketing while leadership holds press conferences about equity and justice.

And then came the kicker. Pritzker, standing just steps away from Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago, declared, “I know that I live rent-free in the president’s head.” Oh, the irony. Because let’s be real: if anyone’s obsessed, it’s Pritzker. This is the same guy who hasn’t missed an opportunity to posture himself as the anti-Trump since 2024. Immigration fights in Texas? He jumped in. Redistricting battles in California? He jumped in. Even the Kilmar Abrego-Garcia deportation circus — something that had zero to do with Illinois — Pritzker found a way to grandstand on.

Tell me again who’s living rent-free in whose head?

And yet, despite all his bluster, Pritzker’s little press conference backfired in the funniest way possible. The cameraman filming the event conveniently panned to Trump Tower looming over Pritzker as he talked about being “unwanted” and “unneeded.” Intentional or not, the visual told the whole story: Trump’s presence in Chicago is inescapable, whether the governor likes it or not.

The truth is, regular Chicagoans are desperate for safety. They don’t care about Pritzker’s pre-2028 campaign warm-up act or Johnson’s excuses. They want results. And if the past two weeks in D.C. have shown anything, it’s that Trump’s brand of law-and-order actually works. Crime is already dipping in the capital. Imagine what could happen if that model hit the streets of Chicago.

HOLY SMOKES: Chicago resident Danielle Carter-Williams just WENT OFF on Mayor Johnson and Governor Pritzker.

🔥🚨BREAKING: Black Americans have started uploading videos requesting President Trump to ‘Clean up Chicago.’

But instead of welcoming the help, Illinois leadership is more interested in playing politics and screaming about “democracy under attack.” Meanwhile, the real attack is happening every night on Chicago’s streets.

🚨 NOW: Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, who has a **14%** approval rating, says arresting people does NOT reduce vioIent crime

THIS is the hill Democrats have chosen to DlE on🤣

Arresting people in DC has reduced vioIent crime by over 80% in 11 DAYS!

And when those families look for answers, who will they trust: the same failed politicians who let it get this bad in the first place, or the guy who actually took control and made a difference?

Something tells me Pritzker’s rent-free boast won’t age well.
