Britney Spears, Who Took a Picture With Hillary Clinton, is a Republican

Britney Spears posted photos of a meeting with Hillary Clinton early Friday, but it wasn’t necessarily a full-throated endorsement.

Spears’ posts on Instagram and Twitter originally included the hashtag #ImWithHer, which could be construed as a sort of social media quasi-endorsement, but the hashtags were eventually removed.

The Instagram caption was edited, and her original tweet was deleted and replaced with a new one without the hashtag.

Neither the Clinton campaign nor a representative for Spears responded to questions from Independent Journal Review.

Spears has never been very publicly political. She registered as a Republican in Louisiana on October 4, 2001, according to public records, which were reported Friday in Independent Journal Review’s newsletter The Political Edit.

She also appeared in a Pepsi ad with Republican presidential nominee Bob Dole that premiered during the Academy Awards in March 2001.

Never forgot the moment a man who could have been president of the United States was depicted as watching Spears dancing on TV and said “easy, boy” to his barking dog, but you also knew it was a total double entendre.

Spears was asked her thoughts about the Iraq War and President Bush in a September 2003 interview with Tucker Carlson on CNN, and said, “I think we should just trust our president in every decision that he makes and we should just support that, you know, and be faithful in what happens.”

But by August 2009, she was more interesting in her own potential presidency when she delivered the “Late Show” top ten list of ways the country would be different if she were president, including, “We would only invade fun places like Cabo” and “Vice President Diddy.”

Spears’ Las Vegas show “Piece of Me” was voted Best Overall Show by “Best of Las Vegas” 2015.

The Grammy-winning artist has sold more than 33.1 million records, has had five No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, and is one of the most iconic women in the world.
