The ‘Resistance’ Is Waiting for Trump in Texas — But What They Get Is a Bracing Reality Check

Ever since President Trump was elected, his vocal opposition has christened itself “the resistance.”

From the Women’s March that followed his inauguration to the present day, they have shown up everywhere the president has traveled, carrying signs that sometimes bear only one word: “resist.”

That includes flood-ravaged Texas.

A group of about 70 protesters met President Trump as he landed in Austin, Texas, on Tuesday (to survey the damage and begin to plan for the necessary rebuilding) — and they announced themselves on Twitter:

But it wasn’t long until a few people pointed out that, especially where politics are concerned, timing is everything:
