The Republican National Committee launched a new video and website in support of strong border security.
According to a statement released by the RNC, the website combats misleading information provided by those that support open borders. The video shows how some American families are tragically affected by illegal immigration.
The video centers around Americans who have been harmed by illegal immigrants that have taken advantage of the system. While not all illegal immigrants are violent criminals, it is important to have strong border laws that could prevent criminals from immigrating to the U.S.
One story that IJR has previously reported on that was featured in the video was that of Ronil Singh, a police officer and legal immigrant, who was allegedly murdered by an illegal immigrant.
Yet the RNC says that the safety of Americans is not what Democrats are focusing on in this situation.
“President Trump is committed to fighting for American citizens and our national security,” said RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel in a statement. “Meanwhile, Democrats are committed to fighting President Trump.”
On the Border Facts website, the RNC also included many quotes of Democratic lawmakers calling for border security reform, and some conservatives have posted similar quotes on Twitter:
Chuck Schumer in 2009:
-Americans don't like illegal immigration
-"Illegal immigration is wrong"
-People illegally in the U.S. are "illegal aliens," not "undocumented"
-Border fence made the southern border "far more secure…created a significant barrier to illegal immigration" pic.twitter.com/zoVyEgdrTC

-Hillary: Supported border wall
-Obama: More border security, illegals must speak English, go to back of line
-Schumer: Border walls work
-Reid: Offering benefits to illegals = insane
-Feinstein: US can't be Mexico's welfare
-Clinton: Illegal immigration is wrong pic.twitter.com/11AjuuOYbj

While there have been meetings between President Donald Trump’s administration and Democrats, it is uncertain when a solution will be reached.
