The Republican National Committee (RNC) blasted Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and freshman firebrand Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) for their continuing “civil war” in a new video obtained exclusively by IJR.
As the infighting between the old guard Democratic leadership and their progressive new members continues to rage on, the RNC highlighted the “civil war” taking place between the two groups in a new video reminiscent of a Marvel movie trailer.
The video depicts Pelosi and other prominent Democrats, such as House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), pushing back on the growing influence of Ocasio-Cortez and new Democrats — including fellow freshmen Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), and Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) — regarding issues like the impeachment of President Donald Trump, Omar’s controversial comments about Israel, and the Green New Deal.

The RNC also touched on the ongoing feud between Pelosi and Ocasio-Cortez that has made headlines recently.
As IJR Red previously reported, the self-described democratic socialist Ocasio-Cortez fired back at the House Speaker for her recent comments in the New York Times, saying that she and her colleagues’ self-respect meant they would not “let everyday people be dismissed.”
Pelosi had told the Times on Saturday that Ocasio-Cortez and her compatriots had “their Twitter world” but when it came to the House, they are only “four people” with that many votes.
“All these people have their public whatever and their Twitter world,” said Speaker Pelosi. “But they didn’t have any following. They’re four people and that’s how many votes they got.”
Pelosi may have a problem on her hands if she cannot rein in the social media-savvy progressive members of her party and solidify unity within the House Democrats as the 2020 election cycle continues to draw near.
