During a question-and-answer session at the Jerusalem Post Conference on Sunday, Barr explained that Trump, who loves ratings just as much as she does, gave her a call to congratulate her.

However, Barr used the time on the phone with the president to thank him, not only for herself but on behalf of others as well.

“And then I said, ‘Mr. President, on behalf of my mother, I want to thank you, all the Jewish people, too […] for moving the embassy to Jerusalem. Thank you so much,'” Barr told the audience.

In response, Trump told the actress, “Well, you know, a lot of presidents have promised it, but I wanted to get it done.” Moving the embassy to Jerusalem is what Barr considers to be the first step toward world peace.

Barr added that she’s had a relationship with Trump since before he became president when he was just “civilian” Trump.

“He was one of the few people in show business who would make a guest appearance on any show I was on, so I appreciate that,” she said in regard to Trump. “That’s a certain kind of loyalty.”

She told the audience that she didn’t make her on-screen personality a Trump supporter because she is, but she did it because her character is a member of the working class and that’s who elected him. Plus, she joked the other actors didn’t want the label.

“Somebody has to voice what 63 percent of the American population thinks,” she explained. “And growing by the day!”

As for her plans outside the show, Barr shared that she wants to move to Israel and joked that if she does, she’d run for prime minister.
