A California hair salon owner is letting loose on California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) for his “liberal ideology” that’s “not working” amid a homeless crisis in the state.
Elizabeth Novak took to Twitter in a since-viral video on Friday to express her concerns and dissatisfaction with the state’s leadership and called for action from Newsom as she was forced to relocate her hair salon located in downtown Sacramento due to the escalating crisis.
“I want to know what are you going to do for us Californians?” she asked, in the video directed toward Newsom.
After 15 years at the location, Novak explained that when she would go to work, she would have to “clean up the poop and the pee off of my doorstep. I have to clean-up the syringes.” She continued:
“I have to politely ask the people who I care for — I care for these people that are homeless — to move their tents out of the way of the door to my business. I have to fight off people that push their way into my shop that are homeless and on drugs because you won’t arrest them for drug offenses. I have to apologize to my clients as to why they can’t get into my door because there’s somebody asleep there because they are not getting the help they need.”
The salon owner noted that police officers told her that they “want to do something and they can’t. You changed the laws.”
“So I want to know what you’re going to do for us, the ones that are unhappy?” she asked in the video.
“You want to make us a sanctuary state, you want to make it comfortable for everybody except for the people that work hard and have tried their hardest to get along in life and now we have to change that because of your laws.”
While she finds it “disheartening,” Novak told “Fox & Friends” on Monday that she “wouldn’t be relocating if it wasn’t for this issue.”

As IJR Red previously reported, while Newsom — an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump — previously blasted the president and his supporters, claiming they will go into the “waste bin of history,” the California governor has major problems in his own state.
According to Fox News, the homeless crisis is growing on the West Coast, including in the city of San Fransisco, where homelessness is up 17 percent from 2017, at 8,011.
Asked why state leaders can’t grasp control of this crisis, former Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) told Fox News there’s not enough affordable housing and “regulatory policies have allowed, if you will, people to camp on the streets, defecate on the streets, and stay on the streets.”
Additionally, the former Congressman noted that laws are “going against” law enforcement officials for dealing with this in “an intelligent, adult way.”
“We have a problem in California,” Issa said, adding, “It is not being solved.”
