‘You Are Wrong’: Sarah Sanders Calls Out CNN for ‘Completely Inaccurate’ Statement on G-7 Summit

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders called out CNN producer Greg Hughes’ inaccurate statement on Twitter about President Donald Trump’s trip to the G-7 Summit, which has since been deleted.

Assistant to the president Dan Scavino, Jr. shared a photo of “negotiations” between Trump and other world leaders on Twitter on Saturday, which Hughes went on to attack.

“Pretty clever visual messaging here from the White House — taking some kind of group signing event and framing it instead to show President Trump seemingly holding court,” Hughes wrote in a since-deleted tweet, according to the Daily Caller.

Sanders, however, was quick to fire back at his statement:

“Dear @newsbyhughes @CNN, Congratulations! Once again you are wrong. There is no ‘some kind of group signing’ taking place. It was all negotiations. We were there. You were not. @Scavino45 tweet is 100% factual. Will you retract your ‘clever’ and completely inaccurate tweet?”

It appears Hughes did retract his tweet, as it no longer appears on his account. He also apologized for the “incorrect” tweet.

Another version of the photo, taken from a different angle, went viral over the weekend and shows Trump, arms folded, being stared down by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron.
