Sarah Palin Was on ‘Match Game’ and Makes an Epic Jab At Hillary While Winning Over Lib Alec Baldwin

Most of the time, it seems like Hollywood and right-wing politics go together like…well, they don’t.

Just take a look at Sunday night’s Emmy Awards, if you need proof.

The two worlds collided again Monday evening during the season finale of ABC’s “Match Game,” which is hosted by super-liberal Alec Baldwin:

For those who are unfamiliar, the reboot of the classic game show features contestants trying to come up with answers to fill-in-the-blank questions, where the goal is to match answers given by celebrity panelists.

As the foil to Baldwin’s strong, left-wing political views, one of our country’s rightest of right-wingers was a celebrity guest on the show — former Alaskan governor, Sarah Palin:

And to everyone’s surprise, Palin and Baldwin got along like a regular, old comedic duo.

When the show first started, Baldwin approached Palin and addressed the elephant in the room:

“I’m simply gonna start by asking you what everyone is dying to know — what the hell are you doing here?”

To which Palin said:

“I want a challenge. I want to do the antithesis of what I should be doing.”

However, this was by no means Baldwin’s only comment directed toward Palin. The host later jokingly said to her:

“Sarah Palin is here because Tina Fey won’t return my phone calls.”

Despite the minor jabs, Palin played off the jokes like a pro:

Palin did have her time to shine and that was when the subject of the question was Hillary Clinton:

“Hillary Clinton just opened up a new magic show on the Las Vegas strip. For her final trick, she makes everyone’s _________ disappear.”

And the “correct” answer was “election ballots.”

While some of the other contestants offered up answers such as “pant suits,” “Donald Trump,” and “bills,” Palin had a one of a kind response.

Her answer:

Although Palin may have gotten the answer wrong, she did what few are able to do and got a high-five from Baldwin for her answer:

After the show aired, it wasn’t long before some were praising Palin for her comedic genius:

And then Palin posted a message on Facebook where she talked about how reassuring it was to be able to combine the worlds of super-liberal Hollywood and, as she puts it, a “commonsense conservative”:

Nothing is more fun than the infiltration of traditionally liberal Hollywood; gives us a chance to interact with those…

“Nothing is more fun than the infiltration of traditionally liberal Hollywood; gives us a chance to interact with those who may assume they can’t have much in common with a Commonsense Conservative. I always have a blast doing these pop culture venues!

This one sure was: here’s a sneak peek of our Match Game episode with my liberal pal Alec Baldwin – airs tonight as the season finale on ABC 10/9pm central.

I thoroughly enjoyed working with the entire cast and crew on this episode.

My aspiring-comedian nephew Payton McCann accompanies me on these forays – he’s the best sidekick in NYC. I love him! (And check out my fellow game show panelist, Jack McBrayer, he looks just like Payton.)

Enjoy the diversion from all-things politics!

– Sarah Palin”

That’ll sure be a tough episode to beat.
