Sarah Sanders Calls Obama Taking Credit for the Economy ‘Laughable,’ Brings Along Facts to Prove It

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders stopped by “Watters’ World” this week to respond to former President Barack Obama’s claim that he should be given credit for the thriving economy.

During a Tuesday speech in Chicago, Obama said:

“We saw the longest streak of job creation in American history by far. A streak that still continues, by the way. ‘Thanks, Obama.’”

Sanders could barely contain herself, telling host Jesse Watters:

“I think it’s laughable that President Obama thinks he has anything to do with the success of where the economy is right now.”

Sanders said there’s more to the booming economy than just Trump’s inauguration:

“This is all a direct result not just of President Trump’s swearing-in, but from the minute he was elected, consumer confidence got stronger, businesses wanted to participate in our economy again, because they have confidence in this president.”

Moreover, Sanders thinks Obama knows it, as well:

“There’s a reason that it continues to go up, and it started when President Trump was elected and when he got into office.

It had nothing to do with President Obama, and I think everybody knows it, including President Obama. And I think it’s pretty laughable that he’s trying to take credit for it.”

Sanders also tossed a few more facts at Obama earlier in the day.

Just the facts, Sanders suggested in a tweet:

Former President Ronald Reagan famously said of Democrats:

“It isn’t so much that liberals are ignorant. It’s just that they know so many things that aren’t so.”

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
