Sarah Sanders Tears into Dem Rep’s ‘Slanderous Lie’ About Jared Kushner as He Tries to Walk It Back

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders tore into Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-Texas) on Friday after he suggested top White House aide Jared Kushner may have been involved in the death of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

The press secretary’s stern message came after Castro appeared on CNN and seemed to claim it had been reported that Kushner may have been involved in the journalist’s death.

“The reporting that Jared Kushner may have, with U.S. intelligence, delivered a hit list, an enemies list, to the crown prince, to [Mohammad bin Salman] in Saudi Arabia and that the prince then may have acted on that, and one of the people that he took action against is Mr. Khashoggi” was “disturbing,” Castro said.

He later attempted to walk back his statement in a series of tweets.

“To be clear, I did not intend to accuse @jaredkushner of orchestrating anything,” Castro began. “Based on press reporting, I’m asking for Congress to open an investigation of whether any US Intelligence was shared with Saudi Arabia that led to political persecution or killing of #Khashoggi.”

He then followed up by sharing several links that, he said, highlighted the “broad skepticism” from the United States intelligence community of Kushner’s relationship with the crown prince of Saudi Arabia.

“For these reasons, Congress should open an investigation to see whether @jaredkushner or any other Admin official shared any US intelligence with the Saudis that led to any political persecution, including the killing of #JamalKhashoggi,” Castro concluded.

Castro’s gaffe and Sanders’ response came just prior to Saudi Arabia’s admission that Khasshogi did, in fact, die in the country’s Istanbul consulate, claiming he passed away in a fight.

This is simply politics as some Dems see. The statement isn’t supported by any proof.
It smells like the tactics pelosi was explaining to a group of people. You tell a lie and leak it. Then ask for a hearing.
