One of the small takeaways from the Mueller report was the proof that White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has lied to the press on more than one occasion for President Donald Trump.
The report details a few times that Sanders lied to the press. She lied about the timeline in Trump’s decision to fire former FBI Director James Comey and lied about the involvement of Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in that firing.
She also admitted to the special counsel’s office that she lied in saying that “countless FBI agents” lost faith in Comey, and she lied about Trump dictating his son’s statement to the press about the Trump Tower meeting.
But Sanders refused to admit that she spouted falsehoods. When asked by ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos about her remarks on Friday, she said: “It was in the heat of the moment, meaning that it wasn’t a scripted talking point.”
“I’m sorry that I wasn’t a robot like the Democrat Party that went out for two and a half years and stated time and time again that there was definitely Russian collusion between the president and his campaign.”

President Trump’s officials in the White House have been doing something of a victory tour since the Mueller report came out. In one appearance, Kellyanne Conway declared that the report marks the “best day” since Trump was elected.
However, while the White House seems pleased with the findings in the report, Democrats on Capitol Hill are hardly finished investigating the matter. The Democratic leaders in both chambers of Congress have called for Robert Mueller to testify, as has House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler.
And Trump still hasn’t stopped tweeting about the report, which he is now referring to as “the Crazy Mueller Report.” On Friday morning, he reminded his followers that he “never agreed to testify.”
