Reports on How Scaramucci Was Treated as He Was Being Fired Just Became Public — Wow

The profane, hard-charging, and colorful Anthony Scaramucci is no longer working at the White House.

In a shock move that has rocked the political world, President Donald Trump let Scaramucci go only 10 days into his new position. The move came after a raucous start for Scaramucci, which culminated in the publishing of a profanity-laced, vulgar tirade in The New Yorker.

S**t Scaramucci Said That Got Him Fired

The move is seen as a signaling by Trump to give a “clean slate” to his new chief of staff, Gen. John Kelly. The process and timing of Scaramucci’s firing were reportedly savage.

According to reporters from the White House, Scaramucci was “nervous all weekend” about his position, he sought but could not get a meeting with Kelly, was in the room for the general’s swearing-in Monday morning and was fired almost immediately afterward as the first order of business. Ten days into his new position, Scaramucci was escorted off the White House grounds by security.

Anthony Scaramucci’s We Barely Knew You

Here is the tick-tock of how it went down.

Scaramucci had a bad weekend, according to reports. He was nervous and could not get a meeting with the new chief of staff:

Scaramucci was spotted in the background of Kelly’s swearing-in ceremony Monday morning, seemingly moments before his firing:

Jon Swan at Axios reports that Kelly was directly behind Scaramucci’s firing and that the hardscrabble general thought the profane Mooch had “burned his credibility.”

Scaramucci’s departure came at the request of new chief of staff John Kelly, who is making his presence known in his first day on the job. Kelly broke the news to Scaramucci almost immediately after being sworn in. The NYT notes it’s not clear whether he will stay on in the White House.

A source familiar tells Axios: “Kelly wanting to turn the page. New culture. Mooch no discipline. Thought he’d burned his credibility.”

White House reporter April Ryan had this slightly more blunt tidbit:

The White House itself released a comment that Scaramucci was fired to give Kelly “a clean slate” (emphasis added):

Anthony Scaramucci will be leaving his role as White House Communications Director. Mr. Scaramucci felt it was best to give Chief of Staff John Kelly a clean slate and the ability to build his own team. We wish him all the best.

In her press briefing Monday, White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said Scaramucci “does not have a role at this time in this administration” and that Trump thought his comments to The New Yorker were “inappropriate.”

A CBS White House reporter says that upon finding out he was fired, Scaramucci was immediately escorted from the White House grounds:

Ironically, moments after Mooch was fired, a skeleton was paraded by the press room at the White House:

Some commenters noted that this was perhaps what Scaramucci looked like after sparring with the very badass Kelly:

RIP Mooch.
