Schiff Gets Crushed for ‘Making up Quotes’ About Trump Controversy — Claims It’s ‘Parody’

House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) is claiming that his opening remarks during Thursday’s House Intelligence hearing with acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire were meant to be “part in parody,” as he’s being called out for them.

The hearing is surrounding a whistleblower report on President Donald Trump’s previous call with the Ukrainian president.

The White House released the transcript of the phone call between the two leaders after increased impeachment pressure by House Democrats and the House speaker’s launch of a formal impeachment inquiry. The whistleblower’s complaint was also released to the public on Thursday ahead of the hearing.

Schiff offered a “more dramatic” version of the president’s words during his opening statement at Thursday’s hearing. In part, Schiff suggested:

“In essence, what the President Trump communicates is this: We’ve been very good to your country. Very good. No other country has done as much as we have. But you know what, I don’t see much reciprocity here. You know what I mean? I hear what you want. I have a favor I want from you through. And I’m going to say this only seven times, so you better listen good. I want you to make up dirt on my political opponent, understand?”

“And don’t call me again,” Schiff added. “I’ll call you when you’ve done what I asked.”

In the unredacted transcript of the July 25 phone call between Trump and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, it, in part, reads that Trump said:

“There’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great. Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you can look into it … It sounds horrible to me.”

Ukraine’s president also said on Wednesday during a meeting with Trump “that nobody pushed me” to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden (D).

Schiff was quickly called out for his remarks.

“Adam Schiff lied for TWO years about a phony Russia collusion hoax. He promised evidence that didn’t exist,” Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said, adding, “The American people won’t fall for his lies about [Donald Trump] today either!”

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) slammed Schiff for his “disturbing and outrageous … improvised fake dialogue between President Trump and President Zelenskyy.:

“We should focus on the facts,” Stefanik added.

Schiff was also labeled as “desperate” for “making up quotes and attributing them to” the president, as Fox News contributor Jason Chaffetz tweeted.

Check out the reactions below:

Schiff tried to backtrack, as he suggested that his opening comments were meant to be “at least part in parody.”

“The fact that that’s not clear is a separate problem in it of itself,” he said.

Check out the video below:

As IJR previously reported, Schiff claimed on Wednesday that the transcript of Trump’s call is “a class mafia-like shakedown of a foreign leader.”

Maguire is expected to appear before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday following the House’s hearing.

Schiff is a proven liar and is hostile to President Trump. He has proved his judgement it bad and he has illegally released classified materials. Why is he chair for House Intelligence. Why is he not forced to resign? Why is he not censured? Is it because he is a Democrat?

Egregious, blatant lies directly to the American people. He must be censured by the House Ethics Committee, expelled from Congress for disorderly behavior. Come on feckless Congress, enough!

If it was a parody, you say so after you finish NOT when you are called out for it.

Hey Schiffless ….
Want some parody?
When was the last time that you enticed someone as a pedophile?
When was the last time, that you went to church and yelled “Next,” to an alter boy?
Better yet?
When was the last time, that you were on your knees in an alley and swallowed?
Now that is parody. (funny too)

A parody by crazy eyes! When he goes on a rant his eyes are scary. Isn’t there supposed to something comedic about a parody? He thinks this absurd waste of time is funny somehow ? After an hour of the Democrats and their drama I turned it off.
