Schumer Slams Trump for Saying He’d Accept Foreign Dirt: ‘Undemocratic, Un-American, Disgraceful’

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) skewered President Donald Trump in a Thursday speech after the president said he would be open to accepting dirt on an opponent from a foreign government.

“That is shocking. Shocking,” Schumer said from the floor of the Senate. “Yet sadly par for the course for this president.”

The Democratic leader said Trump “defined deviancy down to a new low” with his remarks in a new interview with ABC News.

When pressed as to whether he would contact the FBI or listen if a foreign government offered him dirt on an opponent in the upcoming election, the president said he would probably do both.

“I think maybe you do both,” he said. “I think you might want to listen, there’s nothing wrong with listening.”

Trump continued by saying that he had “seen a lot of things” in his life but has never contacted the FBI about anything.

“You don’t call the FBI,” he said. “You throw somebody out of your office, you do whatever you do.”

Those comments didn’t sit well with Democrats, and Schumer expressed his objections in no uncertain terms on Thursday.

“Disgraceful, shocking,” Schumer said. “It’s as if the president has learned absolutely nothing from the past two years of investigations into Russia’s interference with the 2016 elections.”

Watch the video below, via C-SPAN:

Schumer referenced the infamous Trump Tower meeting and Trump’s public overtures for the Russians to hack and release former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s emails.

“The president’s comments, again, are undemocratic, un-American, disgraceful,” he said. “The president’s comments suggest he believes winning an election is more important than the integrity of the election. That idea is flat-out wrong.

“The president’s idea that winning the election is everything and the integrity of the election is nothing,” Schumer continued, “is one small step away from dictators and autocrats who manipulate the results of an election because they care more about staying in power than they care about Democratic principles.”

Democrats like Adam Schiff are definitely hypocrites. He slams Trump for conjecturing about what to do if a foreigner comes with dirt on an opponent and did exactly what Trump said in April 2017 when 2 Russians offered dirt on Trump. See http://siberiancandidate(dot)blogspot(dot)com

So, Chucky, you’re saying that Hillary, the DNC, and Deep State actors are “Undemocratic, Un-American, Disgraceful”?

I agree in part. Politics are a bloodsport. q.v. the current Dim race. It’s not uniquely American, nor is it undemocratic. As a voter I want to know the warts and character of the players.

Well, where does that leave paying a company, who uses an ex-spy, to get [bogus] dirt from Russia on your political opponent, then turning around and using the fake information to spy on that political opponent?

** FROM THE ARTICLE **
“The president’s idea that winning the election is everything and the integrity of the election is nothing,” Schumer continued, “is one small step away from dictators and autocrats who manipulate the results of an election because they care more about staying in power than they care about Democratic principles.”

The above paragraph sounds an awful lot like HRC and the DNC in 2016, ask their victim, Bernie Sanders.

The final paragraph in the article is very telling. Schumer has no grasp of reality or the facts surrounding the Democrat Party and their actions during the 2016 election.
