Schumer’s Excuse for Not Appeasing Trump’s ‘Temper Tantrum’ Falls Flat as Support for Wall Hits Record High

The U.S. government may see a partial shutdown if Congress and President Donald Trump can’t come to an agreement, as the president has a hard stance on wanting border wall funding in the spending bill — a new report shows Americans are backing the president on the border wall as it hiked to the highest on record.

Trump battles with Congress over the spending bill

Democrats have opposed the president’s push for $5 billion in U.S.-Mexico border wall funding as they tried to advance a short-term bill that would keep agencies open until Feb. 8 — which did not include funds for the wall.

Therefore, the president stood strong and put pressure on Republicans in the House of Representatives to add the funding for the border wall to the revised bill, as IJR News reported.

“I have made my position very clear. Any measure that funds the government must include border security,” President Trump said during an address on Thursday, as IJR Red reported.

He continued:

“Not for political purposes but for our country, for the safety of our community. This is not merely my campaign promise, this is the promise every lawmaker made. It is the solemn promise to protect and defend the United States of America, and it is our sacred obligation. We have no choice.”

Poll reveals voter support at highest on record for the border wall

President Trump’s feud with two top Democratic leaders in Congress at an Oval Office meeting about border wall funding lead Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) to criticize the “Trump shutdown.”

Schumer said “this temper tantrum that he seems to throw, will not get him his wall, and it will hurt a lot of people,” as IJR Blue reported.

However, the “temper tantrum” of Trump may not just be based off his own wants and desires for U.S. border security, as the Quinnipiac Poll shows the highest number of American voters who support the border wall since they first asked the question in November 2016.

Between December 12 to 17, 54 percent of Americans opposed building the wall, while 43 percent were in support of it.

Veteran takes up the mantle to raise millions for the border wall

A triple-amputee Air Force veteran is amongst those Americans who do support President Trump’s push to build the U.S.-Mexico border wall, as IJR Red reported.

Former Air Force Security Forces airman, Brian Kolfage, set up a GoFundMe page titled, “We The People Will Fund The Wall,” as of publication, 194,152 people have donated $11,823,309 in total.

Partial government shutdown looms

As funding expires at midnight Friday and a partial government shutdown is looming, the House passed a revised short-term spending bill with $5.7 million for border wall funding on Thursday to avoid the shutdown — however, it is expected to be rejected in the Senate.

Long time past secure the Southern boarder. Both Democrats and Republicans have promised to do this in the past then reneged. Seems that it takes a Trump to get it done. Build a wall on the boarder with Mexico!

Schumer doesn’t want to do anything but present as a block to Trump. I tried calling his Washington office all day today 12/21/18 and it was non-stop busy until they filled up the message tape and then they refuse to take a message. If the government shutdown occurs at midnight today it will be the #2Schumer shutdown. Perhaps we all should contribute to that G0me fund set up by that serviceman to get the money straight to the wall border security rather than filtered through the Senate.

That a piece of sum like Schumer is in the senate shows that NY will elect anyone as long as they are a democrat. He is a traitor to America. We need to have a trial and execute this smug worm for treason.

It’s funny how the DemocRATS have support for a wall if it’s brought up by a Democrat, not a Republican. Schummer was all for it 10 years ago. Bill Clinton got a standing ovation for talking about taking steps to build a wall and illegal immigration. When President Trump wants to do it, they call him a racist. There isn’t anything racist about it. It’s about protecting OUR wonderful country and securing our borders. They need to quit fighting Trump on EVERYTHING and learn to work together

Schumer is the one with the issues. It was just 10 years ago the old boy voted in favor of “the wall”. It is quite obvious that because of Trump he is now backpedaling. All of his feigned outrage is laughable. As more and more illegals invade our country with his blessing.
