Schwarzenegger Has Plan to Counter Trump on Climate Change

The former governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, is rolling out a new plan to counter President Donald Trump’s climate policies, Politico reports. The new initiative is a “digital environmental legislative handbook.

The goal of the new tool is to provide legislators around the country with a comprehensive list of environmental research, policy proposals, and voting records to give activists needed information to help fight the effects of global climate change.

In an interview with Politico, Schwarzenegger said, “There’s no reason why we shouldn’t have a digital legislative handbook — and make it available to people who wanted to create environmental action now — because of the situation with Trump.”

The handbook was created by the University of Southern California’s Schwarzenegger Institute. “The message to legislators with the project is now ‘you have the power to do it yourselves,” Schwarzenegger told Politico.

This is not the first time the former governor has butted heads with the commander in chief.

In the early days of the Trump presidency, he and Schwarzenegger has somewhat of a public spat over the Terminator’s takeover of NBC’s “The Apprentice” — a reality television show once lead by the man who now leads the free world.

Schwarzenegger exited the show after it faced low ratings, saying that he would love to work with the crew again, just not with a show that has so much “baggage.”

Trump followed up Schwarzenegger’s statement with a few of his own:

The president even attacked Schwarzenegger at the National Prayer Breakfast over the show’s low rating. In response, Schwarzenegger released a video saying that the two men should switch jobs so “people can finally sleep comfortably again.”
