In case you haven’t noticed, Shepard Smith is not a fan of Donald Trump.
More specifically, he’s not a fan of the way the president is treating the media.
In a press conference for the ages, Donald Trump dressed down CNN host Jim Acosta, while changing his description of the network from “fake news” to “very fake news.”
Yeah, it was one of those days for the press.
The entire press conference, from beginning to end, was truly a joy to behold.
The president’s exchange with Jim Acosta was an instant classic.
“You look at your show that goes on at 10 in the evening. The panel is almost always exclusively anti-Trump. The good news is he doesn’t have good ratings … But the hatred and venom coming from his mouth,” Trump said. “I watch it, I see it, I am amazed by it.”
“They’ll take this news conference” … he continued, just warming up. “I’m actually having a very good time, but they’ll take this news conference … That’s how I won. I won with news conferences and speeches. I certainly didn’t win with you people, that’s for sure. But I am having a good time.
“Tomorrow you will say: Donald Trump rants and raves … But I’m not ranting and raving,” the president said for dramatic emphasis. “I love this. I’m having a good time. But tomorrow, the headlines are going to be: Donald Trump rants and raves,” he explained.
When Acosta complained that he was “attacking our network,” Trump responded: “I’m changing it. From fake news though. Very fake news.”
This was the reaction in the room at the time:

Let’s get a closer look:
Zoom in on Spicer.
Now, Kellyanne Conway.
Think they were having fun? You bet.
Somebody who wasn’t having fun was Shepard Smith. At the risk of giving Twitter “too much love,” as Smith put it, here’s his must-see reaction to Trump calling out “fake news”:
